New Year's Makeover | Danyzell Style (Part 3: Shop, shop, shop!)

Welcome critters, to my third installment of a "New Year's Makeover | Danyzell Style."

Did you miss the others in my "New Year's Makeover" series?

Ready to move on? Check out the rest  Coming Soon!

______________________________________________________________________

Cleaning out your closet in part one may have left you with less clothes than what you'd like to have. And now that you've completed part two and know what kind of items are going to work best for your body and your desired style we can begin to SHOP! This is the part we've all wanted to do the whole time anyways, am I right?

Thankfully, we have taken the time as part of step two in order to decide what we need using a shopping list. Rushing out to the stores blindly can not only create chaos and an overwhelming feeling, but you're going to want to buy anything and everything even if it doesn't fit properly into your wardrobe.

[Step 1- Prioritize your list]
     > Go over it one more time. As part of step 2 we already took the time to make a list based on what your chosen style is, what you already have, and the basics that you still need; but, going over that same list again a couple of days later will ensure that these are still the items you need and desire.
     > Put the important stuff at the top. When you prioritize your shopping list you need to think about which items will have to most impact in your closet right now. We all may have those desired items that we love but don't really need, so put those on the back burner for now and focus on the articles of clothing that will just MAKE your closet complete. Prioritizing you shopping list can really help alleviate any stress you have. Plus, if you're on a budget you can visually see the first things you need to purchase and then work your way down as money allows.

       Online vs. In Store
Personally, I love to shop in the store. If you have a weird body type like me then online shopping is often times just too unpredictable.
However, some of the best deals can be scored online. If you know what size you are and can have faith in the company that you are purchasing from, then I would say go for it!
Whatever works best for your lifestyle it ideal because shopping is shopping, right?

[Step 2- Buying the clothes]
After you've arrived at the store (or in the case of online shopping, the clothes have arrived at your house), we need to make the decision on whether or not to buy the clothes (or return them).
    > Analyze the fit, the feel, and the look. Moving around can give you the opportunity to think about how this item is fitting and feeling on you. The dressing rooms are just meant for you to change and stare at yourself, but take a step out of them and walk up and down the fitting room hall. In pants or a shirt, giving yourself the opportunity to move around gives you a different feeling of the item. Also, make sure that the item looks good when you're doing these things... looks is what it's about anyways!
     > If you use the 'but' word, it's not worth it. "I like this shirt, but..." I want it longer, I wish it was blue, I need long sleeves. These are all kinds of problems we encounter yet time and time again I find myself still buying the clothes. I made a rule for myself that anything with a 'but' wasn't worth it, and it truly helped me decided what was really necessary and what wasn't. I'd suggest you do the same!
     > Is this practical? This should be an easy question to answer that can weed out a lot of unnecessary items. As in part one, decided what is truly going to work in your life.

Don't get frustrated if the first time you go shopping you don't find everything you wanted. It may take a couple of small shopping trips for you to decide what is working for you.

Want to see what I picked up on my shopping trips? Check out the video below to cheek out my haul.

iPad Basics

Hey critters!

Before I begin to give a closer look into my iPad--ways to use it in the school system, how I use it to stay organized, some really cool apps for all kinds of people and more, I wanted to lay down some basics for some of you who may be learning for the first time.

Turning your iPad on and off
>>> ON. To turn your new iPad on all you have to do is hold down the button on the top right side. If you have a passcode set up it will prompt you to enter that before you can interact with your home screens. [If you do not have a passcode set up and would like to this can be done at settings>general>passcode lock.]
>>> OFF. turning your iPad off is as easy as turning it on, but first I want to talk about the difference between when an iPad is locked versus when it is actually off.
  • A locked screen is when you simply push the top right button once (iPads can also be locked by closing special cases, and set to auto lock after a certain amount of time). Having a locked screen just means that your iPad is asleep--you are conserving power.
  • An iPad that is off is completely shut down. Your iPad is not running any background app refreshers and will not function until you fully turn it on. To turn an iPad off you simply hold the top right button for about 7 seconds (as in turning it on) and then, when prompted, you will also have to slide the red bar on your screen which is confirming that turning your device off is truly what you are wanting to do.

Changing your iPad's brightness
With the new installation of iOS7, Apple's portable devices come with an amazing feature called 'The Control Center'. You can access this to change common settings, play music, and other things.
Swipe up from the very bottom of your iPad (this can be done in both upright and landscape orientation, as well as, when your iPad is locked) to view the command center display. The sliding bar with smaller and larger sun icons indicated your brightness. You can change it by grabbing the white dot and pulling it left or right which makes your screen more dim or even brighter.
If you want to access your brightness in settings you can go to settings>wallpaper & brightness and adjust your brightness in the same manner there.

Adjusting the iPad's sound
Changing the volume of your sound can be done numerous ways within the iPad including, the buttons on the right side of your device, within the command center, with buttons on your headphones or speakers, within settings, or even through certain applications themselves. To access your sound through settings go to settings>sounds, and then you can make changes as need be.
Note: your iPad recognizes the difference between when you have some sort of audio cord attached and when you do not; therefore, your sound setting can change. For example, when all sound is off your YouTube movie will play without making any noise, but if you attached headphones or speakers your settings will switch and you may have sound.

Connecting to wifi
Especially if you do not have cellular data, connecting to a wifi source is going to be one of the first things you want to do once your get your iPad up and running. To do so, first you need to pull up your command center and make sure that wifi is turned on. You will see the wifi symbol (three arches forming an upside down triangle) second from the left. If the icon is white, indicating that it is selected, then your wifi is turned on and good to go. Of course, everything you do in the command center can also be accessed within settings. To adjust wifi settings go to settings>wi-fi and then toggle the button next to wi-fi in order to display it as green.
If you still need to connect to a network then you can access this information by going to settings>wi-fi and then selecting the desired connection under "choose a network..." You may be prompted to enter a password.

Moving and organizing apps
Applications can be easily purchased and downloaded from Apple's App Store once you have set up your account online (however, if you haven't already done this the App Store will assist you through prompts to help you create an account). Once you have tons off applications, moving and organizing them is essential. To do this you simply hold down on one icon until they begin to shimmy. Their shaking motion indicates that they can be moved and deleted. To exit this editing mode push the center button.
To put applications into organized boxes called folders hold down on one icon until they shake, drag one icon directly on top of another until a grey box appears, let go of the icon and both apps are now in a folder that you can rename by tapping the pre-made name.

By no means did I cover everything that there is to know about working with an iPad, but I hope that I could help some people make minor changes to their settings or understand something new.

New Year's Makeover | Danyzell Style (Part 2: Creating your style)

Welcome critters, to my second installment of a "New Year's Makeover | Danyzell Style."

Check out Part 1: Going through your closet of my "New Year's Makeover" series!

Ready to move on? Check out the rest  Coming Soon!

Now that you've all cleaned out your closets in part one it's time to think of new and fabulous things to fill it up with. It's really important that you keep your closet filled with things you love, things that reflect who you are, and things you can wear all of the time.

Sadly, before we even begin the fun step of shopping, we have one more thing to do... and today we are going to talk about Part 2: Creating your Style. This step is super important because you need to make sure you won't be using the 'I don't have anything good to wear' excuse again.

Creating your style isn't only about finding your style "niche" (edgy, preppy, boho, etc.), but also about finding out what clothes work for you. Everyone has a different body shape, and therefore, everyone has different types of clothes that look good on them. While we will be discussing style types, its also important to keep in mind your body type, too. We will be determining what clothing shapes, styles, and designs work best for your life, your attitude, and your body.

[Step 1- Assess what you have]
     > What are your go-to's? If you've implementing the Hanger Method, you should already know what you have and have not worn. Decipher what you have been reaching for most often, and why those are your favorite items.
    > Analyze your current style. Seeing what you already have may help give you an idea of the style you are going for, or maybe it'll make you realize you want to switch it up a bit. One of the best things to do is look at old pictures of yourself. Did you like what you were wearing? Why or why not? It's important to see what items look flattering on you, and what items you know you already love.

[Step 2- Look for inspiration]
    > Use pinterest! This site is the best for finding super cute outfits. Just type in fashion, style, or even edgy (if that's what you're looking for), and you're set to begin making a very impressive style board with tons of inspiration. Even if you aren't in love with the ENTIRE outfit feel free to pin it instead and make note of the things you love and the things you want to stay away from.

[Step 3- Make your shopping list]
    > What do they have in common? Check out your "go-to's" and compare it to your inspiration outfits. Decide what they have that is the same, and what they have that makes you like them so much. Is there be a trend (like combat boots or flowy tanks), or a color/pattern (like floral or cobalt blue) that you keep pinning or wearing over and over again? Figure out if you need more of those items, and add that to your shopping list.
    > What's on your inspiration board and not in your closet? Personally, my board is full of edgy items like chunky boots, black graphic tees, and over sized tops, but I have hardly any of that in my closet. I know that these are the things that I am drawn to, the things that fit my personality, and the things that look best on my body. You need to decide what you have on your board that needs to be in you closet and will be worn all the time.
    > Are there simple basics that you need more of? My friend Kristin has this awesome blog where she posts all about fashion and beauty. Not too long ago she did a style essentials series where she helps you build your closet with basic things that everyone needs. Check out her blog here, or even read one of my favorites of her essentials posts where she talks about your everyday basic tees!

Figuring out what you have, finding what you want, and listing what you need can be one of the most daunting tasks, but remember--after this we will be going SHOPPING! Without a list in hand and preconceived ideas of what you are looking for, each store can be overwhelming. You don't want to wind up spending and buying more that you need, so that's why this step is so important.

You're done with step two! Do you feel accomplished and satisfied with the work you just did? Comment below to tell me about your new style... what trend are you obsessed with, and what things look most flattering on you?

How to curl your hair with a straightener

Hey critters!

Some of you may already know... but, I absolutely love doing hair. Whenever I am home my sisters beg me everyday to do something super cute that they wouldn't normally do on their own. Lately, my sister Sara has been asking me to curl her hair, and using the straightener is the easiest way in my opinion.
Whether you want to do a little curl on the tips or make some beachy waves, this method can help you accomplish just that!

[Step 1- Brush your hair]
     > Just do it. OMG but be gentle now ladies. I know that there are a lot of girls that just rip that brush through their hair-- you don't even understand how much damage that is causing (it makes me scream).

[Step 2- Turn on the straightener]
     > You can use a low setting. I think that many of you think that in order to get the best curl, your straightener needs to be blazing! I put mine on the lowest setting and go with it; it works fine for me.

[Step 3- Curl them hairs]
     > Use a strand about as big as half of your thumb. Any bigger than that and you might have to go over it a couple times to get a good curl.
     > Put the straightener on the desired spot. Depending on whether you want the full strand curled or just the ends, that is wear you first clamp the straightener.
     > Twist and pull. Just twist the straightener about 45-90 degrees and pull down your hair slowly. As you reach the ends you can twist more... but then that's it!

It's that simple guys!

If my instructions were a little too confusing then check out the video I made! I hope it helps.

New Year's Makeover | Danyzell Style (Part 1: Going through your closet)

Welcome critters, to my first installment of a "New Year's Makeover | Danyzell Style."

With a new year comes new beginnings, a fresh start, and a chance to get out with the old and jump in to the new. I love the idea of reflecting on the past and making positive changes for my future. This year I am determined to emphasize the new me! And the first step in that long journey is a revamped, refreshed, and rejuvenated makeover.

For the next couple of weeks, I am going to be walking with you as we go through our closets, clean and organize our style, shop until we drop, and flaunt our personality with clothes.

Ready to move on? Check out the rest

Coming Soon!

______________________________________________________________________

Now, before we even begin to think about the new things we want to buy, we need to decide what we have that works and what must go. Today we are discussing Part 1: Going through our closet so we can start fresh and get the organization in motion!

[Step 1- Clean up]
Pick up your space. Within the next couple of steps we are going to completely tear apart the closet. Could you imagine trying to get everything straight and organized in an already disastrous room? Just start the organization process now and do a quick pick up.
     > Put yourself together. Do your hair, make-up, and throw on some glam (yet neutral) clothes. Simple straight hair and an everyday eye look with black leggings and a white tee is what I went for. The clothes you try on will look better when you feel better about the way the person looks inside them. And don't forget to keep it neutral because you don't want your other pieces overpowering the items you are trying to eliminate.

[Step 2- Make piles]
     > Try it all on. My suggestion is go through one type of item at a time. Put on all your shirts, then your pants, and so on. This makes sure you get rid of any duplicates, and helps keep me focused on the task at hand,
     > Categorize your clothes. Start by making piles as you try anything on. One pile called 'Donate,' another for some of your 'Maybes,' and a pile for the 'Keeps.' Make sure that all clothes that do not fit or are ruined go straight into the donation/go pile--I don't care how much you used to love it!

[Step 3- Reevaluate your piles]
     > Are you getting rid of too much? Do you have lots in your keep pile? This can be one of the hardest parts, but make sure you are being reasonable with yourself. Go through those piles one more time, decide where the maybes need to go, and finish up this first brutal task.
     > What if you still can't decide on those 'Maybe' items? Sometimes it's just too much to make a decision in one day, so make sure you hang those leftover maybes in a separate spot in your closet using my hanger method. Then come back in two weeks and look over those items again.
Questions to help you along the way
          1) Does it fit me? I know we all have those couple of items that we use for inspiration towards our new year's weight loss goals. But we can't keep all of those old clothes. Pick a couple, and 2 sizes must be the limit critters!
          2) Would I re-buy it? You need to decide if this is really something you love. It helps to imagine if it was in the store, would you buy it again?
          3) Is it practical? I may love a certain item, but if I never have a reason to wear that completely sequenced gold dress then I shouldn't keep it--it's that simple.

[Step 4- Put it all away]
     > Keep it organized. Honestly, it doesn’t matter how you decide to put your clothes away in your closet and drawers, just make sure you have some method. A closet that just gets it’s clothes thrown into it is never going to be clean and organized—so, have a method.

Now don't fret about it too much; if you can't accomplish this step in one day then take a break. Sometimes we get so overwhelmed in our projects that we loose focus of the final goal. Take some time to figure out what you really want and tackle the piles another day if that's what you need.
Also, feel free to check out my video below to watch my struggle as I clean out my closet and organize the clothes.

You're done with step one! Do you feel accomplished and satisfied with the work you just did? Comment below to tell me about or show us all of your hard work... what's in your keep pile and what did you decide to donate?

DIY Water Bottle

Hey critters!

One of my New Year's Commitments for 2014 is to be healthy. Now that's a very broad term, but I have taken the initiative to enter workouts into my schedule, choose only one day a week to eat out, and drink more water.

Now, speaking of water-- that got me thinking, "how much water should I really be drinking a day?" Doing some internet research I concluded that the average athletic male should drink 3 liters of water a day! Wow, that's a lot. How could anyone accomplish that?

And here's the answer! I created this water bottle. This is a water bottle to help me keep track of my water consumption. It was super simple to create, and it also allows for a lot of customization! You can bedazzle it up more and add some girly flare, or make it more simplistic for those more down to earth people.

[Step 1- Gather your supplies]
     > Items you will need: Any water bottle you choose, permanent markers (colors of your choice), rhinestones for bedazzling, and any other decorating items you'd enjoy!

[Step 2- Do the calculations]
     > How big is your water bottle. If the measurements are not on the side or bottom, fill the bottle up with water and dump the contents into a measuring cup.
     > How many times do you need to fill up the water bottle to reach 3 liters? How ever many times you conclude is how many lines you need to create on the side of the water bottle.

[Step 3- Draw the lines]
     >Now that you know how many times you are going to have to fill up your water bottle, you can begin drawing that many lines. I used tape to attempt to make the lines as straight as possible. Honestly, this was a tricky part; but, don't fret because expo markers remove sharpie (you're welcome).

[Step 4- Mark out the times]
     > Start at 8am and end at 8pm. This was the easiest time slot for me because during the normal school day I know that these are the times that I will be awake.
     > You will only have one start time at the very top!
     > Split the times evenly. I know this seams like a lot of calculations and figuring right now, but in the long run it will make everything easier and you more healthy!

[Step 5- Decorate]
     > Do this however you please! Make it you, make it fun, make it personal :)

Now that you have your water bottle completed you can start drinking! No more keeping track on a piece of paper, just fill it up and drink constantly. I find this water bottle to be my new savior-- I am carrying it around with me everywhere and using it constantly.

Let me know if you love this creation by commenting below or sharing it with your friends! I'd love to see your water bottles, so feel free to email me at danyzellsblog@gmail.com!

Do I wear this? | The Danyzell Hanger Method

Hey critters!

Have you ever had those articles of clothing in your closet that have been there for years—the shirts that you have never worn, or those pair of black slacks that haven’t been out in the daylight since 2010? It’s time for a change, and I am here to help!

This is what I call The Danyzell Hanger Method. The new year is a perfect time to clean out some of those old clothes that you never wear and remember the others that you just totally forgot about. I know that that’s what my closet desperately needs, and I’m thinking that a lot of other people could benefit from a closet revamp, too.

The hanger method is a visual way for you to see if you have been wearing certain articles of clothing in your closet. It allows you to actually see what you haven’t touched in weeks and gives you the push you need to either get rid of it or break out that old fashion trend again.

[Step 1- Do ALL of your laundry]
      >Do I really have to give any other explanation for this? Just take the time to accomplish this task so that way all your clothes are in one spot and you can assess them together.
[Step 2- Turn the hangers facing backwards/“the wrong way”]

     > I would imagine that this is rather odd from most people, but that’s what makes this method effective. This also proves why the first step is so important. You need to be able to start this change as a collective group rather than trying to time when you wear things because they weren’t all together at the start.
 [Step 3- Wear your clothes]

     > Set unused hangers off to the side- Having the visual of the hangers being backwards is definitely the core of why The Danyzells Hanger Method works. When you wear your clothes take the now empty hangers and hang them “the right way” off to the side. This moves them out of the way and makes putting clothes away a breeze (no more searching for those empty ones).
[Step 4- Hang them back up “the right way”]

      >The cool part about this is the visual that it creates. All of the clothes you haven’t worn are turned backwards and the ones you have are right way round. When you look at your closet now you can determine if you want to wear something over again or try something new.
[Step 5- Clean out your closet]

     > Continue this process for 1-3 months- Even after you wash most of your clothes continue keeping the one’s you’ve worn within this time span front ways and the others backwards. This will give you the visual of what you haven’t worn for awhile.
     > Evaluate the clothes turned backwards- After this process if you still have some items turned around then you need to think about why they are this way and what you are going to do about it. Ultimately, it is your choice whether you need to get rid of them.
Reasons why items could still be turned backwards
          1) You just never wear that item. This is probably the most common and means you really should just donate it or get rid of it.
          2) You never had an occasion to wear it. I would say that this would be true for something like a dressy gown or silky dress—it helps to think to yourself: should I have worn this at some point?
          3) It is a seasonal item. During the summer you wouldn’t really need to wear those warm sweaters, but that doesn’t mean you wouldn’t wear them in the winter.

And it was seriously that easy! I hope this little trick can really help you all jump start your next year. Let me know in the comment section below how your backwards hanger journey works out.

Informative Ramble

Good afternoon critters!

Well, here's the sad part--I had a long, rambling, yet entertaining video filmed for all of you to watch today, but I replayed it and realized that I am absolutely hideous. I am not asking for comments of encouragement; I do not usually have such negative thoughts about myself. Recently, I have been struggling really bad with acne issues. It has gotten so bad that I reached out and contacted a dermatologist about possibly scheduling a meeting. Therefore, I really don't feel comfortable showing my face today, and maybe not even for awhile.
Anyways-- this is what I talked about in the video:
1) I don't want to do a very formal video today because I have a lot to do. Not that I have a lot of homework that is hard, but just that I have a lot of homework that takes up a lot of time. Also, I need to start putting all of my assignments from all of my syllabi into my filofax. If you haven't seen my post on how I organize my filofax for school check it out here!
2) For brunch, I am trying to be healthy. Well, actually I have been on a pretty good eating healthy kick all week. I am eating some raspberry yogurt and so celery and carrot sticks with ranch from a convince store here on the IU campus.
3) Oh, and speaking of healthy, I told you in a previous daily vlog that I got the jawbone up. I also promised that I would do an unboxing and review; but, I already opened it and have been using it for almost a week (p.s. I really like it and SkyCzar might be getting one, too). I plan on doing some sort of workout with it on first and use it a little bit more. And then, I will do a whole review on the band, the app, and show you that packaging and what not! If you have an Up band by Jawbone let me know in the comment section below so we can become teammates!
4) And speaking of reviews: a while back Sky and I did an unboxing post of out Razer gaming headsets (check that out here). We promised a review later on, and it has actually been quite a while--BUT we can not do a review for you all because we haven't really been playing World of Warcraft much... so, hopefully we will be getting back into it soon, use our headsets lots, and finally give you a review!
5) More things about videos that I promised: the eyeliner series (click here to see part 1) is still going to be on its way. The only downfall is that I do not have any duplicates of any make-up. What that means is that if I wanted to film a video tutorial showing you all how to do cat eyes, then I would have to bring all of my make-up with me to class (because I usually only come to the dorms in between classes) and then put my make-up on at the dorm, then take it off again after class (because I don't wear make-up to school [who has time to look pretty, psh!]). I am not saying that I am not going to keep working on the eyeliner series, all I am saying is to be patient. I might make it work and start filming make-up videos sometime on the weekends...but that's not a promise!
6) Lastly, don't forget to go check out my blog for WeAreIU.com. They just recently (as in last Friday) launched a post of mine...check it out here, or you can also see it located on the sites homepage! I spend a lot of time on these posts because they need to be informative for future and interested students to learn all about what it's like to be an IU Hoosier! So please go check it out, share it on Facebook, twitter, and comment!!!
Hey critters, I just wanted to thank you one more time for staying by my side and staying patient with me as I figure out how this blog is going to conincide with the rest of my life. I really appreciate it.
Don't forget to go check out all of the links I have provided for you. And comment below if you are a Jawbone Up user so we can become teammates! Also, you can comment below if you have any suggestions, negatives, positive, etc,

My Filofax

Good evening lovely critters!

With school already started for a lot of you and others who have yet to start school AND to the rest of you who are no longer in school... I just decided that it would be a good time to do a tutorial/overlook of how I use my filofax planner.

The planner I have is from http://www.filofax.com. It is an A5 size classic binder in black. I love it so much because it is real leather (aka it looks freaking snazzy and professional), it is super customizable, and it's sturdy! When deciding which organizer to purchase I went with this brand because I heard nothing but positive reviews; actually, that's kind of a lie--there are some negative reviews out there but most of them just have to do with the expensive price. I chose the size A5 because it gives me enough comfortable space to write all of the things that I need to without feeling sloppy or jammed. Some people think that the A5 size is too large, but to just throw into my backpack and go, the A5 is perfect for me.

When you open the nice snap closure, the first part of the filo is the interior front pockets. They are shaped so that you can use this planner as a wallet if need be; however, I use the card slots for sticky note and tab organization. The zipper pocket and larger side pockets are rather small and tight, so I only put things inside there that I am not going to be reaching for very often.

The back of the binder has a nice slot that allows you to insert a small notepad. When ordering this planner you will receive a filofax brand notepad, but I just recently ran out of paper and decided to save some money by just purchasing a small pad from Staples.

Now, back to the front: The first page in my planner is a plastic card organizer. I use this to house some of my school cards, hair salon stuff, or anything that I don't want to lose but don't need to keep in my wallet. The next page is the list of my new year's resolution. I like to keep this paper in the front that way I remember all of the things that I am wanting to do this year!

On the side of the front a back cover of the filofax are two pen loops. One is slightly larger than the other so I keep a fatter 4 color pen in it and a pencil in the other. A lot of people complain about the pen loops because they are only one size rather than being elasticized and capable of fitting multiple sizes. I have never had an issue with the pen holders so this isn't a complaint of mine.

Filofax nicely provides you with six good quality tab dividers. They come blank, so I used my dad's label maker to apply the different titles to the front and the back of each one. My tabs are Monthly, Daily, Projects, Info, and a blank one.

My monthly tab actually starts of with an expandable yearly calendar. I use the yearly calendar to simplistically lay out all of my big assignments and tests in each class. I like this method because at any given time I can see all of the major events that are happening in one entire semester.

When I get to the month on two pages section, you will see that color coordination begin. I have my own way of staying organized through colors, but the important part is finding a way that works for you. The monthly view pages are only used to display things happening in a day but are not specific and don't show times. Once I know what is going on in one day I can then flip to the daily pages and see that entire day in more detail.

My daily pages are from filofax and they are called day per page. Each day has a specific page with a column of timed sections on the left and a notes section on the right. I use the left column to block out exactly when everything is happening in a day. The right section is used for making different sorts of lists (see the video below for more about how I organize my lists).

My projects tab is pretty self explanatory... I have paper clipped sections for different projects going on in my life like Welcome Week, School, and Blogging. These paper clipped sections are labeled with sticky notes or smaller tabs. They are used for different notes, holding papers, and collecting my thoughts for each project.

And lastly, is my section titled Info. In here I have basic stuff like my filofax registration paper, so if I ever lose it then someone can find me and return it. I also have a homemade about me section in there with more specific details about myself. Other things in this section include, measurement papers, important date lists, passwords, website lists, etc.

I like writing things down because it always sinks things into my brain better. However, I also use my iCal application on my iPhone, as well as, my MacbookPro. Remember to check back soon and check out my next post on how I use my filofax organization and my iCal organization methods to stay on top of all work and school events.
If you have any comments or questions about my filofax and planning system, don't hesitate to shoot me an email or leave it in the comment section below. I love to hear from all of my critters, and I really do take your suggestions for future posts into consideration, too.

Simple Eye Look (eyeliner series part 1)

Hey there my lovely critters!

About a week about I got a wonderful request from Brittni to do an eyeliner tutorial (thank you for the request!) And so, today I decided to give you all a full eye look. This video shows you how I normally do my eyeliner  and some shadow on a regular day. I will be doing more eye looks in this series to show you all how I do my cat eye winged look along with a lot more eyeliner styles and tricks that I have learned.
Check out the video below to learn all about how I do my simple eyes. Some of the recommendations that I give apply to other people with small eyes or hooded eyelids like me.
Feel free to leave video responses :) I would love to see how all of you critters work your magic with eyeliner! Don't hesitate to ask any questions either.
