Christmas List 2014
Happy Holidays all!
The purpose of this post is mainly meant for my family and really close friends.
I figured that giving a detailed explanation with pictures, websites, and more all attached in one spot would be way easier than writing a list on paper, and then expecting my family to find the stuff that I am talking about. So, for the past couple days I have been compiling images, links and all the deets that I need onto in a folder on my desktop just for this list! I really hope this makes it easier on all of my family and friends.

Don't skip classes
Hey guys!
I'm back again for another "What I've learned this week" update!
If you've read any of my most recent posts basically all you will read is, "School is hard" "College is stressful" "I have a lot on my plate." But honestly, as much as I complain, I absolutely love it all. I like staying busy, keeping my mind working, and always having something to do. However, one thing that I've learned through the course of this week... don't skip anything.
The reason this is such a big deal to me now is because I literally have no time to make up any work I've missed if I decide to skip something like a class. Yesterday I accidentally slept through one of my 8am classes and then only had 15 minutes to get ready for my 9:30am class, and guess what I did--I just skipped both. For some people this isn't really a big deal, and normally it wouldn't be for me either. I would normally just take the time to read over the articles, books, and notes materials that I had missed and work harder to understand that material. But now, I just don't have the time. I would rather suffer through a super early one hour class than spend two hours later on trying to reteach myself everything that I missed.
Here are six more reasons why skipping class just isn't a good idea:
Does this make any sense?! Because this message needs to be clear--please don't skip classes.
Good luck with you midterms,

5. It adds some serious anxiety to your life
6. You'll miss out on more than you think

Why I've been loving Snapchat
Hey critters!
Life is hard--college is a struggle--and work takes a lot of energy. Blogging is definitely on the back burner for me if you can't tell! I love writing, but since I feel like I'm talking to an empty crowd I don't feel the need to get on here and post like I used to. My blog means so much to me! And I could probably never abandon it completely. I just hope that the few of you who do read this can understand.
Since I don't necessarily have to time that I'd like to devote to making post, creating videos, and just putting out amazing content, I have been really drawn to using the SnapChat app and posting tons to my Snap-story. If you already follow me you'll have seen that I have been pretty into it just in the past couple of days. Posting a diary like slideshow of everything I do in my day is kind of fun! I fill you in on what's going on in my life and slide the time stamp over the image so you can watch my day click away.
If you don't already follow me you definitely should! I can keep you up to date really easily that way--plus, we can snap each other and be social on a whole new platform! It's loads of fun!
Until next time:

Defining "what is a game"
Hey!
Long time no see.
I am currently in a class called "Theory and Practice of Game Design." It has been really enjoyable so far, and today I wanted to talk to you about something that really got me thinking. We discussed in class just the other day about what makes a game a game. How can we define what is and what is not a game in a way that will be universal in all areas of the world and to all people?
The conclusion that the classes decided on was that the definition does not exist, but for me, this wasn't a good enough answer! I wanted to bring about a discussion with all of you on what you think defines a game.
I think that everything is a game! Life is a game. A game is about the way in which one individual perceives something. And everything is a game, it just isn't always a good one. For example, going to class can be made into a game--you receive points, get awarded with certain achievements, and compete (either against others or just against yourself). Some people might not want to attend class and participate in this game, but at the same time, sometimes you just don't want to play COD either but you still call that a game, right?
Now, I know some of you will not agree with me--and I really want you to not! Respond in the comment section below and give me a run for my money about the beliefs that I have! Do you have a contradiction to my argument? I want to hear it.
I love you all!

The New Blak Blog
Hello again critters, long time no see!
Working is all I've been doing lately, but I decided to stop in and tell you about something very exciting. A blog that I have been creating for a month or so now is finally live. The New Blak is a fashion, beauty, and lifestyle blog devoted to making girls look good, feel good, and be good.
I didn't do the whole project on my own--this blog is a collaboration project with 4 other girls (Amanda, Bree, Diane, and Kaitlin). These girls are some of my closest friends, and I love working with them!

Creating the website for The New Blak was one of my biggest projects so far!! I am so happy that I did it, because I learned so much (and am still learning) as I take in this new experience. TNB is totally different from my own personal blog--it takes a lot of patience and collaboration to make any sort of decision when you're working with an entire team. When I want to change the header of my personal blog, I just do it; however, everything done on TNB needs to be talked about, discussed, and thought through thoroughly.
I really enjoyed the different experience, and can't wait to start contributing even more.
On TNB I will be doing a "Street Style" post every Friday and Sunday! Also, my official hashtag for the blog is #DanyellsDownload--on the first of every month I'll talk about all things techy that every girl needs to be beautiful, fit, and sassy!
Big changes are really happening in my life, and I am trying to keep you all up to date. Sorry for not being here--but, don't worry, I still love you!!

I TAKE A NAP RIGHT HERE
Hey critters!
So, if you scroll down my blog feed a tad you will see my update from like FOREVER (aka over 3 weeks) ago!
If you don't want to read it, here's a short recap: "I'm very busy this summer. I have a lot of things on my plate (but I want to do them all... at once). And I promise to blog more."
That was the gist of that whole post; however, I have not kept that promise. I feel like I've been gone forever again... even though I promised not to be!
All I can say is I am sorry. My only excuse is this GIF. It has been the explanation of my life lately.
Anyways, I'm not going to make another promise to be back in the blogging-verse again. But, I just wanted you all to know that I didn't forget about you! I do love blogging and making videos and creating posts!! I am working on getting my life organized and productive.

Time to fill you in
Dear critters,
I've fallen off the face of the earth lately. And for that I am sorry. If any of you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you will have noticed the same absence there as well. After I got my wisdom teeth taken out a couple of weeks ago, my life has gotten a little hectic... Let's start with the beginning.
As most of you know, I work at Charlotte Russe and have worked here for a little over a year now. However, when the summer started I wasn't getting enough hours, so I took on another job. I am now working at the Indiana University Foundation Telefund on top of CR. In the past (before CR), I worked at the Telefund once before for a semester. I knew what I was getting into, what I was capable of, and what the job would entail. At the time, I could totally handle another job.
A week or so after accepting that job, I got an offer from CR for a promotion! Of course I was going to take it, and I was so pumped to be moving up!! I am now a key holder/manager which means I get a few more hours, a little better a pay, and an experience like no other. I am so thankful for this opportunity to move up and learn more about how this corporation works; however, this is a new stress on my shoulders. When I say stress, I do not mean anything bad--but, of course I need training, time to learn, and have a whole set of new tasks to master. This promotion is wonderful, but has added more on my plate.
So, now I am an employee at the Telefund as a caller AND a manger at Charlotte Russe.
But, I don't stop there. I like to keep busy, and I'm not complaining about anything that I have taken on...it's just a lot on my plate and often times blogging gets pushed aside.
On top of CR and TF, I am currently working with a group of my best girl friends on an amazing and exciting project. I don't want to spill too many of the details just yet, but the girls and I working on creating an amazing blog (and more) for fashion, beauty, health, etc!! This is another task that I am so thankful to be a part of; however, it's another thing on my list of things to do.
All these jobs keep me busy, and I love it! I am also working on achieving two IT certificates in web design and media publishing. I am taking two online classes a week for the next month or so to accomplish this! Also, next week I start my online math class at Ivy Tech!
Just a couple more things to fill you in on now...
Today I accepted an interview with UITS IT Consulting. At the end of my spring semester I applied to work with UITS in order to have the opportunity to build resume in the technical world, as well as, get experience and gain knowledge about what I want to do for a future career. I believe the interview went very well, and I feel confident in what might come. If I find out any more details you all will be one of the firsts to know!
And finally, all of this action in my life has warranted a break don't you think, so SkyCzar, his family, and I are headed off to North Carolina to the castle in the sky for a week long adventure of fun, relaxation, and much needed rest. This time away is exactly what I need right now, and hopefully when I get back I can jump back into my normal routines and back into the blogging stage.
I want to thank you all for all of the birthday wishes yesterday! I had a wonderful time!!

11 First World Problems Girls Face in Warm Weather
This blog post is take from hercampus.com. I love their site and had to share :)
Good afternoon critters!
As summer approaches some pretty terrible problems arise. Problems that can ruin any girls' day.
This post explains some of those problems to a T.
Good afternoon critters!
As summer approaches some pretty terrible problems arise. Problems that can ruin any girls' day.
This post explains some of those problems to a T.
- Sweating off freshly applied make-up after five minutes of walking outside--and to think of all the time you spent evening out your winded eyeliner!
- having to pack away your edgy bomber jackets, thick infinity scarves, and tall boots. And say goodbye to cute layered outfits!
- Your skin turning to dark for your foundation and being too lady/cheap to buy a summer shade.
- Not being able to enjoy warm foods as much as in the colder months. Sure, you're a sucker for soup, but chicken noodle soup just doesn't sound as good when you can have fruit salads and flavored ice.
- Having to choose between being blinded by the sun or risking a raccoon tan from your sunglasses.
- Not being able to wear any of your gray or white tops because you're afraid of pit stains (even after applying layers of clinical-strength deodorant).
- Having to inhale your ice cream because you don't want it to melt all over your hands. You barely have time to appreciate the chocolate chip cookie dough pieces.
- Constantly worrying about if you need to apply sunscreen when you're outdoors for more than a few minutes. SPF 15? SPF 30? Who knows how long you plan on staying outside?!
- And when you do apply sunscreen, trying to mask the gross smell of dousing yourself with a gallon of perfume.
- Enduring tundra-like conditions when you to a restaurant that turns the air conditioning on too high. It's like they're trying to bring back winter or something!
- Doing laundry more often because you've exhausted your supply of strapless bras. Somebody should make a law that requires spaghetti-strap tops to have built-in bras.

My birthday list
Hey critters!
Did you know my birthday is in like 22 days?! On June 2nd I will be a whopping 20 years old. Good bye teenager :)
To get myself even more excited I made a bit of a list. I wish for things all of the time, but here are some of my current favorite items that I would love to call mine.
My mom and I already have a special event planned for my birthday that I am mega pumped for, so don't worry, I'll fill you all in on that when the time comes.
Anyways, birthday's are about celebrating, but gifts are never necessary for me. These wants I listed below are just that, wants. And they are nothing that I need.
Feel free to comment below! And don't forget to subscribe for more Danyzell :)

Jot Script
This is a top notch stylus. Because my iPad is my everything (a notebook, a planner, an entertainment system), it would only be fitting to get it the best treatment in return. This stylus is perfect for our needs!

Running Shorts
Sky and I made a promise to run more this summer, and I am actually really excited. We are getting into our summer routines already!! Some new shorts would really motivate me...plus, I do actually need some.

Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil (in Milk)
I have been eyeballing this product forever. From all the youtube videos I've watched with it, I can tell this is definitely going to be something I'd use! It's perfect for my waterline and perfect as a base...plus, it's really cheap!!

Canon Rebel T3i
While I understand this is a bit pricey--a girl can dream though, right?! My boyfriend got me a new camera for Christmas that I love toting around with me. But for those special memories, I'd love to have this huge beauty!

Starbucks Gift Card
Starbucks is a terrible habit...but, I'm hooked; it's so good I can't help it. Having a gift card to help out with my coffee addiction would be very much appreciated.

Meanwhile, studying for finals
Critters!
This is all I have to say...
Why did I skip all of those classes? Why didn't I do those assigned readings when they were assigned? Who makes these tests?!
I'm worried the study guide isn't going to be like the test!!
