UPDATE: I'm still here

Hello All!!

WOW, long time no see. I think even people who are close to me have been waiting for this post.... an update. I can't say I'm back to my blog for good, but I can fill you in on why my postings are so sporadic.

An open letter to my desk

Dear Desk,

Thank you for holding all of my stuff--I really and truly appreciate what you do. However, why does all this junk accumulate so quickly? I know you're here for a reason, but why can't you just keep my stuff organized for once.

It's a stressful job, and I know Sky and I have to take some of the blame. We keep setting things on you that don't belong and horde everything that should be thrown away. But sometimes I feel like you just aren't even trying to work with me. I try to get you plastic organizers, but you just don't get along well with them. I put a trash can right next to you so the clutter doesn't pile up, and you ignore it like it's not even there. None of my efforts work, and I just don't know what to do anymore.

There are some lessons you need to learn, but I guess I'm just going to have to work with you. You need to learn how to put the dishes away--sorry, but they just don't belong on the desk top. Your next lesson is going to be how to organize cords because you just seem to throw everything around. Finally, some day I'll teach you how to close down the computer, turn off my second monitor, lock my iPad screen, put my camera back in it's case, and keep my phone charged all the time.

Teaching you all these skills is going to be a fun journey, so please stick with me. I do really love you (I couldn't do my work without you here). I know we can coexist well together, but you just need to try. Maybe I'll even try to reacquaint you with the plastic organizers again, I promise you both can be friends.

Talk to you again soon,

Things I am thankful for [Tuesday Twenty]

Good afternoon critters,

Some times it's good to take a long look at the things you have and reflect. Every single day I am taking things for granted because they are so second nature to me; however, its not this way for everyone.

Today I just wanted to take some time out of my day to be conscious of the things, people, and opportunities that I have that others might now. I am so very thankful for all of this!!

Things I am Thankful For

My TV - I am currently using my television as a second monitor for my laptop, and I have never been more thankful to have it! It's made all of my internet related things so much easier and even better.

My iPad - This is my life. If you know me well you know I never go anywhere without my iPad. I use it as a planner, a notetaker, a file sharer, and nearly everything you can think of.

A summer vacation - Recently I went to North Carolina with SkyCzar and his family. It was a blast, and it also made me realize how lucky I am to have had that opportunity to get away from work and stress for awhile.

My Dr. Marten boots - I know, I know. It's summer time! But boots are still an essential. I am so thankful that my grandma got me these amazing Dr. Martens for Christmas because they are hard core and totally necessary.

A place to sleep at night - My bed isn't some fancy four post king or anything; however, I realize that I am still lucky to have a comfy place to lay my head at night (and at 2 in the afternoon if I need a nap, haha).

My Charlotte Russe watch - A must. It's nothing crazy expensive or a super nice metal, but I love my watch.

My glasses - The other day when I was reaching for my glasses I suddenly became aware that not every has glasses when they can't see. Some countries and struggling families don't have these commodities that I take for granted. That's why I am thankful for my glasses.

Eos lip balm - I just like it. I just couldn't live without it.

My camera - I own a very nice camera, and I use it every day. Sometimes I don't think about how lucky I am to have something like this.

My computer - Again, I own a very high class laptop that is worth a lot of money. I love my apple products and couldn't live without my computer.

My iPhone - I think everyone who has a phone often takes it for granted. In my area, nearly all people have a phone to use whenever they are out, and a lot of those people also have phones with access to the internet. I couldn't leave the house (oh who am I kidding, I don't even leave a room) without my phone.

Blogger - My blog has changed my life. I couldn't have created all of the content that I have without this website. I am so grateful for blogger!

My boyfriend and his loving company - I am so thankful to have this hunky man in my life! I love having him around and am so lucky to be able to spend every day with him.

My job at Charlotte Russe - I never thought I would like this job so much. But with this new promotion came lots of new opportunities, and I have never felt so lucky! The girls there are awesome, and I can't wait for more fun times.

Indiana University - Not a lot of people get the opportunity to go to a university. I am so thankful that I get financial aid to help me through this expensive journey.

A car - It's not my car, but Skylar lets me use it.

Zellest and World of Warcraft - Okay, so I am obsessed with Zellest...I will never have a love like this for another character. I only play her (most of the time) on WoW. I love having a virtual world that I can go to when this world just isn't working out for me. Plus, I'm way awesome-er in WoW.

My Family - Even though I don't see them often, I am thankful that they are there when I need them and will love me no matter how long it's been.

Amazon.com - Mostly I am just grateful for this site because of my Kindle. I am addicted to reading lately, and I love how I can make wish lists, order books, and do lots of other things from this site.

My Razer Naga mouse - I splurged on this mouse last year around this time when I was still unsure about my love for WoW. Thankfully, I love the game and I couldn't imagine playing it without my Naga.

Time to fill you in

Dear critters,

I've fallen off the face of the earth lately. And for that I am sorry. If any of you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you will have noticed the same absence there as well. After I got my wisdom teeth taken out a couple of weeks ago, my life has gotten a little hectic... Let's start with the beginning.

As most of you know, I work at Charlotte Russe and have worked here for a little over a year now. However, when the summer started I wasn't getting enough hours, so I took on another job. I am now working at the Indiana University Foundation Telefund on top of CR. In the past (before CR), I worked at the Telefund once before for a semester. I knew what I was getting into, what I was capable of, and what the job would entail. At the time, I could totally handle another job.

A week or so after accepting that job, I got an offer from CR for a promotion! Of course I was going to take it, and I was so pumped to be moving up!! I am now a key holder/manager which means I get a few more hours, a little better a pay, and an experience like no other. I am so thankful for this opportunity to move up and learn more about how this corporation works; however, this is a new stress on my shoulders. When I say stress, I do not mean anything bad--but, of course I need training, time to learn, and have a whole set of new tasks to master. This promotion is wonderful, but has added more on my plate.

So, now I am an employee at the Telefund as a caller AND a manger at Charlotte Russe.
But, I don't stop there. I like to keep busy, and I'm not complaining about anything that I have taken on...it's just a lot on my plate and often times blogging gets pushed aside.

On top of CR and TF, I am currently working with a group of my best girl friends on an amazing and exciting project. I don't want to spill too many of the details just yet, but the girls and I working on creating an amazing blog (and more) for fashion, beauty, health, etc!! This is another task that I am so thankful to be a part of; however, it's another thing on my list of things to do.
All these jobs keep me busy, and I love it! I am also working on achieving two IT certificates in web design and media publishing. I am taking two online classes a week for the next month or so to accomplish this! Also, next week I start my online math class at Ivy Tech!
Just a couple more things to fill you in on now...

Today I accepted an interview with UITS IT Consulting. At the end of my spring semester I applied to work with UITS in order to have the opportunity to build resume in the technical world, as well as, get experience and gain knowledge about what I want to do for a future career. I believe the interview went very well, and I feel confident in what might come. If I find out any more details you all will be one of the firsts to know!

And finally, all of this action in my life has warranted a break don't you think, so SkyCzar, his family, and I are headed off to North Carolina to the castle in the sky for a week long adventure of fun, relaxation, and much needed rest. This time away is exactly what I need right now, and hopefully when I get back I can jump back into my normal routines and back into the blogging stage.

I want to thank you all for all of the birthday wishes yesterday! I had a wonderful time!!

Recording World of Warcraft [3/10-3/16]

Hey critters!

The more I blog the more I learn. Thats what I say all of the time. I am constantly talking about my learning on this blog, but that's what life is all about right!

Don't forget to check out the video at the bottom of this post!

Here's what happened:

Monday- I hope to get used to recording my life better. I let Zoey play in the mud this day, so then I had to give her a bath. When she drys off she gets really crazy and excited, and it's always so funny. I worked, too. After work I played WoW... as the usual lately.

Tuesday- It was beautiful this day! So, classes weren't hell to go to like normal.

Wednesday- After going to all of my classes Sky and I ate dinner at a food court-- so, yummy!! Then when SkyCzar went off for work I surprised him with a clean and reorganized room. I moved everything around and made it so pretty (make sure you watch the video to see the before and after).

Thursday- So, don't yell at me, but I am a terrible student. I skipped all of my classes this day!! Spring break starts on Friday so I was just like "WTF I don't want to go to class."

Friday- Today was the very important day in which I finally figured out how to record everything properly in WoW!!! YAY! I couldn't believe how hard it was. Make sure to comment below and click the like button on my video if you want to see how I actually will be recording everything!

Saturday- I didn't wake up until like 3pm this day, haha! So I just got up and went to work. Sky worked too--from 10pm-3am. We just spent our weekend playing WoW.

Sunday- Sadly, this day wasn't much more fun either. Mostly we just slept all day and then drove back to our hometown. A long drive and a boring day.

Lots of midterms [3/3-3/9]

Good afternoon critters!

Another week of [somewhat] successful vlogging. I am still finding it hard to talk to a camera in public; however, I am working on it, haha.

Check out the video at the bottom of this post!!

Here's what happened:

Monday- This was a rough start to my week. I wound up having to drop a class because my grade wasn't were it should have been and there was no way to get it back up. It was a very stressful situation! But, things got better as the day went on.

Tuesday- I decided that this daily blogging thing was pretty difficult--I still find it hard talking to a camera in front of people (I feel weird). I studied for a midterm a little bit before I headed of to work to close down the store and finish my day.

Wednesday- Classes are kicking my butt! I find it hard to wake up early in the morning and am not doing so hot in that 8am class either :( Studying was stressful!! SkyCzar also finished up Enders game, so we got the chance to finally rent the movie. I surprised him after work with movie theatre popcorn, and we made it a date on our living room couch.

Thursday- MIDTERM!! It didn't go too bad, I felt really confident after the test, so hopefully my grade shows it. I only studied that day, but it was only astronomy 100. After that I had to study for another midterm that I had the next day.

Friday- MIDTERM!! I relieved some of that stress from the week by stopping at the mall. I returned a dress so I had a bit of extra cash. I got some mega awesome gelly shoes like when I was 7. I also got a mood ring just for the hell of it :)

Saturday- Sky and I went out this night! I was such a blast. I always love getting a little dressed up with lots of make-up and some false eyelashes.

Sunday- I made a nice dinner this day after work. I don't cook much so this was kind of a big deal. I made baked potatoes with lots of supreme topping to put on them. Peas are also like my FAVORITE food…sooo yeah!

Look at my new gear

Good evening critters!

Getting back into WoW always gets me really excited to share; however, these spurts of game play never really last long. I have a lot on my plate and tend to get stressed about the littlest of things. So, playing this game is never top on my priority list (even though SkyCzar thinks it should definitely be number one). Now, don't get me wrong. . . I absolutely would never stop playing this game. All I am saying is that I don't get on as often as I should.

Anyways, today I wanted to show you some of the cool gear I just recently picked up while dungeoning all today and yesterday with my man and a couple of friends. While this gear is pretty awesome and super girly, I might add--it's definitely not the best. I'm still moving up levels [slowly, but surely] and attempting to grind out the best gear.

Sky doesn't really like it that I call this a fairy wand, but I mean, come on?! It's purple and it sparkles. Is this not like the perfect item for future transmogging?? I know Zellest will never not have it. . . unless there's a better looking one out there :)

Another really pretty and girly item! This floating helm is actually part of a priest specific set, and tomorrow I'll be grinding out the rest of the set. The crown is purple and pink/red, and it floats like a halo above my head. It can also be socketed! And of course will probably be transmogged in the future, as well.

What do you think of my new instance gear? Got anything cooler--let me know in the comment section below!!

The first weekly recap & Making my sisters look fabulous [2/24-3/02]

Hey critters!

This is a new thing that I am trying, and I am hoping that I can keep up on this weekly vlogging idea. I really had a blast toting you all around this past week!

Here's what happened:

Monday- I didn't video tape anything because I didn't know that I was going to do this yet :) And the worst part is--I can't remember at all what I did on this day.

Tuesday- Sky and I ran some errands. We went to PetCo and saw some really cool animals... oh, and how could I forget the lizard that we saw! It's glass enclosure had a sign written on it stating, "One of us is missing a tail and is 50% off!" Poor lizard!

Wednesday- We had a slow start to our day. Nothing really happened: class, study, blog, sleep.

Thursday- This was date day!! My grandma got Sky and I a gift card for Valentine's day that we decided to use up at Olive Garden. We like being able to treat ourselves every once in awhile, and a date night was definitely due. After that we saw a free movie at the IMU.

Friday- I didn't vlog anything this day either because I had a midterm the next day. M118 is a terrible math class that everyone struggles with, and I knew that I needed to buckle down and focus.

Saturday- I went home this day to do my sisters hair and make-up for their big spring dance! It was a long trip, but it was worth it because they both turned out gorgeous!

If you want to see the specific portion of my daily vlog about my sisters dance click here

Sunday- And then I drove home. It was snowing so bad when I got to Southern Indiana that I was going about 20 mph the whole way! It made for a very long and boring trip!

I got a new camera!! [VLOG 2/21-2/23]

Hey critters!

The title of this blog post is true... I DID get a new camera. It is a very nice Nikon Coolpix S9500, and so far I am really liking the quality. SkyCzar got it for me for Christmas--I don't know why it's taken me so long to actually publish a video for you all to see.

The vlog was taken over this past weekend that I went home. I am also going home this coming weekend that is why most of my time in this video is spent with Sky's family and most of my time this coming weekend will be spent with my own.

Before I get into the beef of what happened over my wonderful 3 day break, I want to mention that I am trying something new. One of my fellow blogging youtubers who I follow very religiously has tried this new thing where she blogs her daily life for an entire week and then recaps the previously week on a certain scheduled date every week following. I love this idea; however, I do not know if I can work that sort of thing into my schedule. The act of taking videos will not be hard, but the editing and posting can sometimes be a tedious issue. So, I am not making any promises, but this is what I want to try to do. Do you understand?

Anyways-- let's get into the weekend post now :)

This past weekend I drove home with Sky and Zoey to go visit our families back at our hometown. I called off work and he had that week off so it was perfect. We both hadn't seen our families since Christmas break so it was due time.

On Friday, Bloomington was gorgeous!! As we were taking off we rolled the passenger window down to let in some fresh air, as well as give Zoey the chance to be all cute and stick her head out. Little did we know that that window motor had had enough. Vrooooooom, and now it was stuck. Driving out of Bloomington wasn't bad because it was pretty warm, but the further we traveled north, the colder it got. Soon, Sky and I were blasting the heat in a desperate effort to make Zoey stop shivering. We were using sweatshirts and tshirts from our laundry basket as blankets!! Finally, we made it home. (Sky's dad and brother-in-law set to work later that weekend to work on the motor and fix the window.)
At the house we talked and visited family; however, I didn't have to opportunity to enjoy much of it because I had gotten a migraine. I usually get them pretty badly, and this one was no break. Thank the lord for medicine!!

On Saturday I spent the majority of the day with Sky's sisters and his mom. We took a shopping trip to South Bend, and just made a day out of it. It was a blast! We sang loudly, waved at truck drivers, and bought what we wanted. It was great to get out of the house again and spend some much needed girl time with these beauties!

Sunday was the sad day that we had to head home. There was some drama with the vehicles that we were planning on taking, but as expected, we got it all figured out. Driving three hours back to school is never fun, but at least we didn't have to freeze with the window down this time.

How we got Zoey

Hey critters!

Over and over again you hear about SkyCzar and I's wonderful Jack Russell Terrier named Zoey. She has showed up numerous times in all sorts of different posts; however, I have not been able to give you all a full introduction about our little baby. Today, Sky and I want to tell you all about how we got Miss Zoey.

(SkyCzar, DanyZell)

Sky and I have always loved puppies. Before we had Zoey we were (basically) living together and had made it a habit to go to all of the pet stores at least once a week to play and dream as if they were all ours. We went to all the local puppy hotspots, as well as the Bloomington animal shelter. Altogether we probably spent an unhealthy amount of time handling more than a hundred little pups. While we often talked about getting a puppy, with the crazy prices being what they were, we were never more than half serious.

Not Zoey :(

After spending lots of time at each pet place, we came to the conclusion that we really needed to own one of our own. We visited all of them over and over again. Deciding that we truly wanted a young puppy that we could train and raise on our own led us to the sad realization that the animal shelter wasn't really an option. I mean, we love the idea of rescuing dogs, but having an older dog with pre-learned habits and dispositions as our first--we just weren't ready for that gamble. So while we kept the shelter in the back of our minds, we went back to loitering around the local puppy marts. One day in February, we stumbled across Delilah's (our first time visiting actually) and low and behold they actually sold puppies. In the first kennel of the puppies, with a price tag of 400 dollars, sat the cutest, little, scruffy flea-bag you ever did see. It was the first Jack Russell puppy I had ever encountered, and I was smitten.
I had had my eye set on some super girly and fluffy little dogs that would yip and walk around at my ankles, but when Sky fell in love with that sporty little Jack Russell I couldn't help but fall in love with her, too. We played with her once and our mind was set.

We always talked about how 'this was the one' and 'we are gonna have to get that puppy' but it hadn't ever been a serious statement until… the moment we left Deliliah's I looked at Danyell and said "I love her. We need to get her". Now, I like to think that I'm not a terribly impulsive individual. I would probably say I'm borderline…whatever the opposite of impulsive is. But when it comes to puppies, especially that spunky little JRT, I just can't resist. So, while I expected Danyell to play the voice of reason and talk me off my canine-crazy cliff, she instead spends the entire next day on the computer researching the best ways to take care of JRT's and how to train a new puppy. My soul mate, I tell ya.
After hours of studying, Sky and I kind of made a whim decision that if we really wanted this dog we would have to snatch her up fast. Puppies go quick in Bloomington because every college student is looking for that special friend to take home and snuggle. Thinking back to that moment, I know that we should have taken our time and spent a couple more days deciding if this was what we wanted to do. But, I don't regret our little Zoey one bit.

So the first thing we had to do was get back to that store. The next day, as soon as we were both available, we rushed on over to Delilah's to reunite with our day-lost, soon-to-be puppy. I can still remember how (at least to my puppy-crazed mind) she seemed to remember us when we got there. In minutes flat we had bought her,  her food, a leash, and several treats and were out the door. On the way home, we attempted to think up a name. After a little discussion (and a little Google searching) Danyell settled on Zoey; the Greek word for 'life'.
Zoey was such a ball of energy and so cute at the house. Instantly she began following me around our little apartment. Within days we had taught her how to fetch and trained her to walk on a leash. We had a big back yard and knew that now our lives were complete.

Zoey was one of the best things that happened in Sky and I's relationship. We have learned together how to be patient, how to handle unwanted situations, and how to unconditionally love someone else. Zoey is such a good girl with a personality all her own. She knows lots of tricks and can play for hours. I wouldn't know where I'd be with out my Zoey baby.

Today I have been told to write about (even though I've been wanting to for a long time) My favorite movie and what it's about.

Movie: Frozen (directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee)

Summary:

"A prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, so Anna must team up with Kristoff, a daring mountain man, on the grandest of journeys to find the Snow Queen and put an end to the icy spell. Encountering Everest-like extremes, mystical creatures and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction." -imdb

Our Ratings (from 1-5, five being highest which means best)

Film Quality: SkyCzar= 5 Danyzell= 5

They did such a great job on expressions. The animations were flawless.

Sound Track: 4 5

If I compared with all of the Disney greats it ranks up there with the top... But, it's not the best.

Uhhhh, I don't know why Sky was such a hater, but I absolutely loved the music. I know own songs from this movie on my iPhone--it was that good.

Story Line/Plot: 4 4

It was interesting but, it was a very short story with less adventure than what I had expected.

I agree. The story was a good one, but I was expecting more.

Casting: 4 4

The voices matched the characters. The singing was great. That's all we can ask for.

Intended Purpose: 4 5

It was intended to make you happy, make you laugh, and make you cry. The emotions were right on par, and I think the directors did what they had planned on doing.

Other Comments:

I really hope they make more movies like this.

I loved the singing and comedy! I can't wait for more movies.
